Power Alarm

Hi to all, I was wondering does any one know of a power sensor. I mean when the house current goes off an alarm sounds to wake you up. I am currently using a Resmed VPAP III with 2i humidifer and being at 23/18cm H2O I do not want to chance not waking because of lack of air. Thanks

hi tony:
there are a few things that can let you know,
1. is get a normally closed relay that is pluged in to your hydro and a alarm hooked to a battery when the power goes off the relay will close and sound the alarm
2. use the same type relay with a larm and power inverter with good big auto battery and then you can keep you unit working

i use it for my sump pump in the basement works great so when we are not home and power goes down my pump keeps going

Most UPS (uninterruptible power supply) units made for computers have an alarm that emits a loud series of beeps when the power shuts off. We ended up with a spare APC brand UPS and have had it hooked up to my wife's CPAP for a couple of years. If the power goes off during the night, it wakes her up AND keeps the CPAP running through very brief interruptions. I think the UPS we have on it cost less than 40 bucks on sale, so this might be a fairly economical solution.

Tony, I think you can relax. The exhale feature on your mask (no matter what type or brand) will let you breath adequately until you realize the pressure difference and awaken. You won't suffocate if the power fails.
