advice on Breeze leaking

Post by laurie2025 » Wed Jan 31, 2007 7:02 am

Hi,
I thought I'd try a new mask (and also wanted a backup mask) and I got a Breeze. It's very comfortable, but I cannot get it to stop leaking. I have already switched out from the medium to the large pillows. It seems that no matter how I wear it I cannot get a good seal, and it wakes me up blowing cold air on my face from a leak. Where specifically is the large plastic piece on the back supposed to 'sit' on your head? In other words, I'm not sure how to adjust it. Any tips from someone who had a similar problem will be welcome.
Thanks!

~~Laurie

breeze leak

I had this happen and I looked every place I could think of for the source of the leak.

I noticed a very faint air flow to my eye.

I then looked very closely and found the problem in the seam of the plenum, The plenum is pressed together and snaps in place.

Hold it in your hand and place 2 fingertips over the pillows and port to stop airflow. Wet your lips and gently pass the assembly over your lips to detect this flow. You could even put a bit of water with detergent over the entire area to detect bubbles.

I found mine this way and got a drop of pvc cement and put it in with a pencil tip and held it together. Super glue may work as a sealing agent here, but be sure to hold it together with pressure until it cures.

Works for moi. If you do not find the leak here, then look at other places with the saopy water.
