Just wondering if my husband tried the nasal pillows if he can breathe at all thru the mouth or what happens if he did as I don't think he could stand a chin strap because of the claustophobia. This way he could watch tv as with the full mask or nasal mask he can't. Any suggestions? Darlene

Thats the mask you need to consider. I've been using it for several months, its almost the perfect solution! There is no chin strap to deal with and I can watch TV since nothing obstructs my field of vision.
Cheers!

Hi Darlene.
It can be done, but it should not be done. The treatment (pressure) will be escaping out of his mouth.
I will respond in your other post as well.
he can tape his mouth shut while awake. (may be harder to do at night being claustrophobic.)
Or use the hybrid interface. It is totally off your face. You can wear glasses you have clear vision with nothing in front of your nose and eyes.

if he can tolerate tape on his mouth, I really really like the Nasal Aire II. It feels like you have nothing on.

If you breathe through the mouth with nasal pillows all the pressured air roars out your mouth it's quite unpleasant. I use a Swift II and can watch telly while wearing specs if I want to, but as soon as I put my mask on, I'm off to sleep. I don't mouth breathe though. If he doesn't like a chin strap he probably wouldn't like taping his mouth either?
