I have used tap water but after it has run through a Pure brand water filter I use for drinking water. My tap water tastes bad and is over loaded with calcium. The charcoal water filter seems to fix it up for the cpap tank. Bottled water works well too. Distilled water is hard to find these days here.

I quit using the humidity feature though. Even at the highest setting I still get an extremely dry mouth from my therapy. I am guessing the humidity maker on my AirSense 10 is designed to add a bit of humidity, not provide enough moisture to prevent a mouth breather from dying out.

Ah, its your water. As nasty as it is in NC, be grateful it does not smell of rocket fuel like Vegas or grow fungus overnight like mid south Florida or smell of rotten eggs like mid-illinois farm water.
Before I agreed to live move where I live, I made sure the water from the tap was not only safe to drink but good tasting.
