Do we need/want a new pillow exchange thread?

Someone posed the question as to whether or not it is time for a new and updated pillow swap thread and retire the old one.

So what do you guys/gals think about it?
The original is 14 years old and has 109 pages to it. No one ever really looks at anything except the last page though.
Also one thing that has bugged me is a swapping thread where people want to sell something....just seems off to me but maybe that's me.

Swap or give away something is one thing but selling is (to me) different....or do you guys/gals even care?

I can lock the old one and include a link to the new one easily enough so that part is easy.

Thoughts?????

One thought: I trust your judgment completely. So I prefer to support whatever your personal preference is.

I don't really have much of a personal preference if truth be known.
My only real thought about it all was a "swapping thread" shouldn't be a "selling thread" but even that thought isn't set in stone.

Here's a hint though....if I don't get many people wanting to change things then I won't go changing things.

So if it is important to someone...they need to speak up.

I think we should lock or even remove the original, go with the new one.

Virtually all of the original no longer has value. New members won't be automatically will default to page one.

this makes a great deal of sense and i support the proposition.

always good to have a new thread, speaking of course from an ex-moderator of a message board point of view. At one point, during our OT section, threads reaching the 300 page point caused errors. Our administrators had told the moderator team to help prevent that, to have us lock the thread at 100 pages.

As far as the topic goes with pillow exchanges, I've glanced in there but never utilized it.

I've looked at the pillow exchange thread, but since I don't have anything to trade with, it isn't very helpful. That being the case, I wouldn't mind seeing people offering for trade or purchase (at a low cost), to give me an option to get extras without having to have extras that don't work available to offer others.

A new thread would be great. I had a hard time finding the original thread and also I think it would be a good idea since it would be easier to navigate a thread with under 100 pages.

It would help to refresh it every now and, especially for users who don't know how to get to the last, most updated, page.
