Struggling Newb

Post by cantsleepgoodatl » Mon Oct 10, 2022 6:22 am

Hello All

I'm still trying to figure out what mask I have years of bad sleep habits and sleeping on my back is going to be tough (real Tough) Also a mouth open sleeper so looking t chinstraps I'm using a Pillowmask and don't know if I like it I do like it better than the Dreamwear full face my Dr gave me. But I look forward to getting dialed in

Can I use Oscar with my Airsense 10 and how do I see my reports other than the one on my machine Do I need a SD card reader??

Thanks

All good questions. Start with the following for most answers.

Short answers:

Yes, you can use Oscar with your Airsense 10.

Yes, you'll be able to see reports in Oscar that go into far deeper detail than what you see on your machine. After uploading the data from the SD card, you'll click on the "Daily" tab to see the detailed graphs for each night. Click on Overview for a graphical representation of your long-term data (good for spotting some trends). And click on Statistics for numerical data calculated over various time periods.

Yes, you need an SD card in the machine and an SD card to upload the data into OSCAR. Some computers have built-in SD slots. If yours doesn't, SD card

Just to finish robysue's thought: you can get a cheapo SD card reader to plug into a USB port on your laptop or desktop.
Oscar software is available at https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/

This is a standard "problem" with installing any software that Apple has not officially approved the "developer", which basically means almost any piece of software that is not being distributed through the Apple Store.

You should be able to download the program's package anyway. When you run the installer, you'll get this kind of a message. When that happens you should control-click the installer's icon and then choose Open from the menu that pops up.

Likewise, after installing Oscar, you are likely to have the same kind of error the first time you try to run Oscar. But if you control-click the icon and select Open from the pop-up menu, it will open just fine. And after that first time you control-click to open up Oscar, you should be able to just double-click the Oscar icon to open it up as usual.

As I recall, a similar problem occurred when installing Oscar onto my desktop. If Microsoft is not the software creator, users will see a similar message unless MS has "approved" the developer. I guess this is to protect users against installing software that could contain malware. If you trust the developer, say install anyway.
