New to the board and about to start my new life with a CPAP machine

Post by cliff2112 » Wed Oct 05, 2022 1:03 pm

I just joined the board today, and I don't currently have a CPAP machine, but one is in my near future.

I had a sleep study done a few months ago and was told that I had an AHI of 35 and O2 sats dropped to 75%. That was a huge wake up call. My second sleep study to fit a mask and determine the proper pressure is scheduled for November (the earliest I could get in).

I've been reading the FAQ and newbies docs in this forum, spoken to friends who have a machine, googled a lot and watched a ton of Youtube videos, so I am learning every day. I don't have any questions at the moment, but I'm sure I will as time goes on.

This forum seems to be quite active with lots of great advice, so thank you in advance!!

Hope that you will be among the lucky few that will breeze through the adaptation process 🤞 🤞 🤞

If not, having a positive attitude and being willing to power through the difficulties you encounter will dictate whether the CPAP will work for you.

The following post about "BUT-heads" is illuminating.

There is a lot of info to be learned at the "CPAP wiki" at the top of the page. Suggest putting it on your reading list.
