Re: Hooked On Melatonin
One time I took a tablet of 10mg melatonin, I woke up feeling so hungover that I had to call out of work that day. I've also tried 1mg, 3mg, and even 300mcg, none of them seem to do anything for me. Oh well

A well-timed shift to airplane mode sometimes does the trick when using a phone. I mean, so I've heard.
Best paragraph from the article, in my opinion, as far as practicality and real-world application:
"You can swap melatonin for something else — a nightly cup of chamomile tea, for instance, or a warm bath before bed. Try something you can repeat night after night, making it part of your sleep hygiene practice."

Well, if you want to know all the online tricks, I think he's your guy.

Welcome back!
But please submit time-stamped photos of two negative-result tests, taken more than 24 hours and less than 48 hours apart, before proceeding in this forum. Thank you.

It's not really a paywall; as far as I remember, NYT gives you a fixed number of "free page-views" and then it cuts your access. It seems to be just cookie-based, so clear your cookies, use "incognito mode", whatever works best for you. Some are IP-based, so if your provider uses dynamic IP address assignment, just try renewing your DHCP lease (usually through the gateway interface), if your provider allows it (they may have a persistent cache). There are many other mechanisms, just google it. There is no way around a true paywall (short of targeted hacking).

IMO, the NYT's medical and science articles are of such poor quality that it is not worth going through all that rigmarole.McSleepy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 4:43 pmIt's not really a paywall; as far as I remember, NYT gives you a fixed number of "free page-views" and then it cuts your access. Oh how the gray lady has fallen, and she can't up.
Information wants to be free.
I think I heard Daniel, Julian, or Edward say that.
Or was it Donald?
Anyway.

Re: Hooked On Melatonin
Sadly, the NYT really gets around an a lot of people read this in the main stream and think that it’s helpful. Many of them like the ability to critically evaluate the veracity of some of the studies or whether or not the suggestions are worth it or not.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 5:30 amIMO, the NYT's medical and science articles are of such poor quality that it is not worth going through all that rigmarole.McSleepy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 4:43 pmIt's not really a paywall; as far as I remember, NYT gives you a fixed number of "free page-views" and then it cuts your access.
