Question: SD card data collection, if two people use one apap machine.
I want to know if I use two different SD cards will the sleep data on the two cards remain separate or it the data stored on the machine will add the “missing” data to each SD card.
If anyone has any experience with this I appreciate your experiences.
I am thinking of using my son’s Resperonics System One APAP machine during the day, (with my own tubing and mask) (We have the same range so not an issue. And yes his is on recall.)
I know this is not an ideal solution, but I need sleep with a machine. My REMstar Auto M series got the fatal “service required” message yesterday and have not been able to make it work yet. Also I stopped taking one medication that may cause drowsiness so I won’t get longer events and take loinger to gasp for air.
It is going to take a few days to get a new prescription for an apap. Then I need to deal with the shortage of DreamStation 2 machines.
Or find a different machine which has logarithms that works for me.
I plan to keep using my Hybrid by Innomed mask with any new machine.
After this I am planning on getting a spare on, or replacing one sooner.)

Re: Question: SD card data collection, if two people use one apap machine.
The machine will write any missing (on the SD card) data to each SD card.
Since the data from 2 people is stored together in one internal memory storage area on the machine you can't keep it separate by using 2 separate SD cards.
I know what you want to do but you just can't do it without erasing past user data.
The results will be mixed together both on the machine storage area and on the SD cards because the machine will want to fill in the blanks.
It's not that big of a deal. Only affects averages from night to night. Each night all by itself will be kept separate.
Just remember which nights you use the machine.

I am pretty new to this but I think if two people use one machine and download the SD card to OSCAR you can separate the data by checking or unchecking a session. If you are using during the day it would be easy to separate from night sessions. My understanding is that a new session shows on OSCAR every time the machine stops and starts. Maybe Pugsy can confirm or correct this.

This could be done in OSCAR as a way of separating the sessions but the original question was to ability to separate the data on the SD cards or the machine and that can't be done.Slumberseeker wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 6:07 pmI am pretty new to this but I think if two people use one machine and download the SD card to OSCAR you can separate the data by checking or unchecking a session. OSCAR could be manipulated to only show the data of one person by either turning off the other person's sleep sessions or purging from selected dates.

Pugsy,
Thanks, that is exactly what I wanted to know. I thought the machine worked like that but was not sure.
Slumberseeker,
Thanks for the input. I will look into that.

Pugsy gave you the right answer. I'm just curious, what is the reason you want to keep the data separate?

My idea is just to not worry.
Let the data run together.
If the doc asks why your son's machine is running while he is at school,
be a smartass--tell them school is BORING, and your son is sleeping at school.
Or tell them the truth . . .
Lay on that guilt trip.
