There is something wrong with your ETCO2 probe--I don't think this is that common; certainly doesn't happen that often in the OR

I wasn't discussing the above waveform.
I was thinking of the text about figure 7 in the following article: Practical Aspects of Interface Application in CPAP Treatment

ETCO2 sensors don't have moisture extraction media. The probe works using infrared technology like an SpO2 sensor. https://www.cablesandsensors.com/pages/ ... centration.Rubicon wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 3:22 amIt happens very frequently during NPSG, as the moisture-extraction media often gets saturated and/or clogged. The Tired Vet wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 8:32 pm-ETCO2 can be low for a few reasons...

Where in the sleep study is moisture extraction taking place? The only moisture modification I know of is on a CPAP where it's humidification, i.e., augmentation. Can you point us to a reference where you get this information?

Can you repost/paste the waveform you are referring to that has no leaks?

The link you posted is for in-line monitoring on ventilators. I have used those extensively. The Tired Vet wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 8:00 am

The Mallinckrodt and Nellcor ETCO2 monitors (which I have used hundreds (thousands?) of times) need moisture removal media.

He also mentioned the possibility that you're suffering from athletic overtraining.
Rubicon, who changes his names every 1000 or so posts is an experienced, knowledgeable Polysomnographist.
And maybe my memory is totally wrong, but I have a vague memory from way back when (14 or so years ago?) that he too ran marathons. Very vague - I could be totally wrong about that.
