I recommend using Encore Pro's Patient Export function. Its _very_ slow but it creates a single large XML file for a patient that can be imported back into Encore Pro to recreate your data.

transferring data

Post by Guest » Tue Jan 23, 2007 11:32 am

Hi:

I recently needed to move data from an old PC to a new PC. Not wanting this to take forever or be so complicated:

I purchased Intellimover on ebay for about $18.00. Intellimover (by Dell) transfers everything but application programs.

Use it to transfer these files from your laptop to a desktop PC and use Intellimover to move them back.

Simple, easy to use, relatively inexpensive, quick (that is the essential part) quick.

Hope this helps

Gecko,

I do not know how to do a backup and retrive it later. Someone posted about having trouble getting to backed up files to work (*.bk what ever the extention is.)

The link that Den posted, I explained how I transfered it from one machine to another. If you have an external hard drive, Large memeory stick, a home network, you can easily transfer the data to either another computer or memeory.

NOTE: I do not know if you can use the data from the laptop that you originally transfered the data from or if you would need to transfer it back again.
I can do this, I will do this.

My disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, nor have I ever worked in the health care field Just my personal opinions.
