I am a back sleeper & for the last 4-5 years have been using a 10" wedge which seems to lower my AHI as my fat stomach makes breathing difficult. However I suspect the wedge could be creating my lower back issues because my lower back is really sore when I wake up every morning.
Is anyone dealing with this issue?

Re: Sore Lower Back from 10" wedge
If you are using a short wedge, you need to switch to a longer one. Short wedges cause the torso to bend. The bend could be at the stomach and/or the lower back. There are wedges that are long enough to reach below the hips. These are the only kinds that should be used.
That said, none of us can accurately diagnose your problem.
Is it possible to place something under the legs at the head of your bed instead of using a wedge? Bed risers from internet suppliers can be found on the internet.

That is brilliant. I've been having the same struggle and never thought of that. I will contact the company who makes the wedge and see if they have something I can try.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 12:00 pmIf you are using a short wedge, you need to switch to a longer one. Yeah, some people have used a short wedge to help relieve reflux. This actually made the reflux worse because their stomach was bent.
Search on the internet for a wedge that goes below the hips and let me know what you find. Somewhere deep in one of our closets is a good one. It's been so long since either of us used it that I can't remember the brand name. If I get time, I will look for it later today.
