Mask Leaks

Post by Suzannaor » Sat Apr 23, 2022 12:51 pm

It has been several years since I’ve posted here. I came by and read a few posts the other day and discovered the thread on mask leaks! Well, I started a new machine last Fall and have had a lot of problems with that. My new machine has the “MyAir” ap and I can see reports each day of how many hours I’ve slept, mask leak, events and mask on and off. I think I must sleep with my mouth open, and thus the leakage. I want to thank the person who posted the suggestion of using Scruncie hair bands! I’ve been using them for a couple weeks now and am amazed at the difference. I have a chin strap but it didn’t really help.

as we used to say in indiana, i'm as proud as a pig with a purple purse!

pretty sure that was ME who made the suggestion as i can't seem to shut up about it. 8)

and i'm very happy and much gratified that it helped you improve your sleep.

to anyone wondering, suzannaor is referring to-

people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Well, I'm glad to know you and thank you again! I had the old machine for 9 1/2 years --- with no way to know how good or bad I was doing and my doctor's office only occasionally reviewed! So I'd wear it the required 4 hrs a night for insurance coverage and forget it! With the new machine I'm using it the full 7 hours, sleeping better and so happy with the ap on my phone that tells how I am doing. I love viewing my score! And my scores are better now with the Scrunchie!!! I'm also a type 1 person with diabetes. So I wake up to two great scores each morning! We have to enjoy these conditions some way, right? Have a great day! (Oh - and a new therapist has already reviewed me, and set me up for yearly reviews! So things are looking up!)

According to the head respiratory tech at my regional DME, they saw a huge increase in compliance when the MyAir app was introduced.

Although MyAir does not provide the detail provided by OSCAR, one could assert that MyAir provides value to OSA patients as a group if it causes patients to use their machine more. More treatment, even if sub-optimal, is better than less treatment.

Why do you persist in coming in here and posting comments like this? They help nobody improve their therapy.

Myair provides nothing to help people get better treatment of their sleep apnea.
