So, the swivel was too good for us?
Too bad. I like it.

Wow! Neat contraption! I’d be really impressed if you can just say “Alexa, fill up my CPAP tank”. Version 2.0 maybe?

By the way, the max fill line on the AS10 is quite close to overfilling as well. Figured out that I only need to fill it 1 line below the max line with sufficient water left over in the morning. With room RH between 40-45, no heated tube and humidifier setting at 6, I just need less than 200ml per night, so no need to fill it all the way.

@Kguillotte is that a HEPA filter in-line with your hose?
No, it's a standard antibacterial filter, not a HEPA filter.

Ah, that's cool. Looked like a HEPA filter we use for ventilators.

Just in case anyone would like to speed up the process of filling their CPAP water tank, I included a picture of my system and a drawing of how it’s assembled.
This isn't over engineered enough, we need a water level sensor, and stepper motors instead, keep just a cm of water in it and replace it as it evaporates.

could we also add a piece that will automatically order fresh distilled water?
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

What you're looking at are, specifically, Anti-Bacterial filters, referred to in the Resmed menus as "AB filter", eg: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... ap-10-pack

While people may call them HEPA filters, they are not HEPA filters.

This is an image of a HEPA filter, notice the hugely larger pleated filter area?

I fill the tank on my Resmed Aircurve 10 to the max fill line. I usually wake up after about 4 hours, and the water level is down to the lowest line. I fill it back up to the max fill line, and when I get up in the morning it is usually back down to the lowest line. Since the lines are in thirds, that means I use 1 and 1/3 tanks in a typical night. In the deep of winter when the air is dry I use a little more than that.

After moving to Houston, the ambient humidity is so high that even on low humidity levels, the mask gets water in it. So I think after my first couple weeks here, I haven't used any water. Except when I had a cold.

Just in case anyone would like to speed up the process of filling their CPAP water tank, I included a picture of my system and a drawing of how it’s assembled. To fill your tank with this system, you just press the actuator button for a few seconds and your tank is filled. The PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) DC motor speed controller can easily alter the speed of the pump to improve accuracy. I was going to completely automate the process… however, due to the small stature of the water tank and numerous other issues, I went with a little button. So much easier!

So… anyone can make this little machine. Everything can be purchased on EBay for a few dollars. Then… using my drawing, attach everything with electrical wire. Everything can be put in a box like I did… or, you can hot glue everything to a small board. You can do whatever you want. I purchased a few feet of 1/4 inch tubing to go from the bottle of water to the pump and then from the pump to the tank. I drilled a 1/4 hole in the tank and in the water bottle top. Easy breezy!!
