Airsense 11 Clinician Software for Programming
Airsense 11 Clinician Software for Programming
As a long time user of the REMstar 60 series CPAP, I use Encore Basic for programming changes to the Humidifier and other UI's as needed though I don't change the Pressures. It's also convenient for me to send the "Detailed" files from it in PDF to my Dr..... (Though I do see that the Airsense has an internal cell modem already installed.) I am being given the option of ordering the ResMed Airsense 11 as a replacement. Like learning a new language, I would like to have access to the Airsense setup via the SD Card. I've not had any success in locating a Download for ResMed's Clinician Software.... the counterpart to Encore. Thanks to ResMed users for any info that will educate me in this.

You can find how to obtain ResScan instructions here
https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap- ... tup-manual
Note you will have to register and be logged in to find the information on how to get ResScan.
It's a real PITA to use though.
Now there is OSCAR which is easy to get and use and will work with the AirSense 11 machines.

Are you aware that users can easily change these settings through the machine's menus on the display? The user just needs to enter the Clinicians Menu. It's easy. This 37-second video shows how easy it is to enter the menu - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEDSvaVaTvs
If you want more detailed instructions, just search for longer videos on youtube.
If you learn to use OSCAR for analysis, you will like it much better than the ResMed software. There are people here to help you.
Welcome and best regards
Re: Airsense 11 Clinician Software for Programming
Thank you both for your quick replies....
I did find the Manuals previously and have installed OSCAR, unfortunately OSCAR does not have the ability to interact and change with any machine Settings to my knowledge. The Clinician setting via the GUI does not access all the available settings and I find it much easier to view and document any changes I make through my PC.
Pugsy... I appreciate your caution regarding the Software I'm seeking, though it must be more difficult than Encore Pro, but EncoreBasic has always been easy for me. Originally I found some contradictory settings in the Humidifier Section of Encore Basic, and it appeared it was strictly a software issue. I was actually able to have a phone conversation with a Respironics "engineer" who after explaining the issue and he testing it acknowledged there was a BUG!
My issue was that I was unaware of the name for the Software until you just mentioned it... "RESSCAN".... and a quick search revealed it's location that eluded me.
The real PITA will be to get my FLASHAIR Card to work in it!
Many Thanks!

What setting are you trying to change?
As far as I'm aware, it does allow everything to be changed.

I am assuming the options available on the AirSense 11 will be similar to that provided in Encore. Fine tuning of the Humidifier will be the priority. FYI I am waiting for delivery on the AirSense now due to the backup.
Re: Airsense 11 Clinician Software for Programming
OSCAR doesn't have any provision for making changes to the settings by way of using OSCAR itself.
ResScan does have the provision in it for making changes to the settings but to be honest....you can probably do it manually while the software is just loading. It's horribly slow for one thing just to load so that a person can then navigate to the area where changes can be made but if you want to use it then that is certainly your choice.
All software packages have bugs....simple fact of life. ResScan is no different but since it is mainly for doctors and DMEs the bugs it might have are more likely to be in the area of the product that deals with office kind of stuff.
I quit bothering with ResScan when they added the password protected feature (like Encore Pro had) and it was causing so much grief for everyone. Just another headache I didn't want to have and didn't have to have since OSCAR does all I need.
So I don't know where the bugs are but I am fairly certain there are some bugs somewhere.
Humidity settings can be changed easily just by accessing the settings in the "options" section of the machine that you can see when you just turn the machine on.
There is no need to go to the extra work of using the software.
Humidity can be increased or decreased on the fly. Just by turning the round knob....
At the link I gave above you can request the clinical/provider manual for the AirSense 11 and it explains the features.

Thank you Pugsy for the advice, and I know it comes from your years of trying all the options available.

Re: Airsense 11 Clinician Software for Programming
Access to the clinicians menu gives you access to every setting.
The Humidifier options are available in clinician mode, and *may* be available in the Patient View mode, depending on whether the Patient View Option is set to Simple or Advanced.
Assuming your FlashAir is working with RemStar, there is nothing that needs to be changed for it to work on a ResMed.
I would delete any RemStar data from your existing SD Card. In the past two different machine types on the same SD Card can confuse OSCAR. The OSCAR developers also suggest that upon machine change, to use a different profile,

Thanks DS....
When my FlashAir W-03 would no longer connect to my PC, and I tried every method I could find to get it to work, I just assumed it failed. I replaced it with a W-04 updated Card... and it began to work then was intermittent at connecting. I had to give up at that point but will likely try it again with the new Airsense 11 when it arrives. Thanks for the advice....
