OCO,

Is it like the numbing sprays when you have a sore throat?

Thanks for the list. I will look for something similar.

I was wondering what the active ingrediant is in the breathe right snore relief spray.
Here's the whole list:

Purified water, Alcohol, Glycerine, Polysorbate 80, PVP/VA Copolymer, Essential Oil Blend (Wintergreen Oil, Menthol, Peppermint Oil, Anise Oil, Eugenol), Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Saccharine, Cetylpyridinium Chloride, Ammoniou Glycyrrhizate.

I imagine that any throat spray that lubricates the throat might be helpful. This just happens to be what I had on hand and the label says it's safe to use every day.

I can do this, I will do this.

I really can't say because I don't think I've ever used any other throat spray. I don't often get colds and I'm more of a Robitussin-DM (syrup) type when that happens.

I imagine that throat sprays and such are probably like masks; everyone's needs are different.

You mentioned Oxygen is that because of sever apnea or other lung conditions? Your case may be special.

Do you use oxygen at night? When you said you were not getting enough air do you mean oxygen, or like there was not enough air to breathe in?

MY REPLY (I am still learning how to select out a quote - don't think I have it quite right yet......)

No lung problems, just low O2 absorption rate while sleeping before I started CPAP. My goal is to get back to normal rates when I am compliant, so I can stop the night time O2.

So when I felt I could not get enough air in my FF mask, it was with the O2 bled into the CPAP.

So what I need to resolve is why I am getting congested at night when I don't have a cold. I turned my heat level down a bit last night, and it worked better, but still got some congestion in one nostril.

I am also using both a homeopathic sinus clearing spray and a saline spray during the day to help prep for the night. I will probably need a bit more time with these two things to see how it affects things.

Thanks for your explanations!

Hi Betty,

I have many allergies year-round and have not found a full-face mask that works for me so keeping my chronically congested nasal passages clear is a high priority. This routine is working pretty well for me:

1. Drink plenty of water every day
2. Spray a saline spray into my nasal passages at least three times a day to moisten and clear them (my ENT said these are very effective)
3. Use a euphorbium (natural) nasal spray 3-5 times per day
4. Use Ayr gel on my nostrils at night
4. Sleep with the head of my bed raised

Of course, I won't hesitate to use Afrin and/or medications when necessary.

I hope things get better for you soon.

Sleepergal

Thanks for the routine.

I am doing most of it - except for raising my head (I have thought about doing that) and not drinking enough water during the day - especially in our dry climate!

I will be more diligent!
