AHi over 40
I have been using my CPAP machine for around 2 months but recently changed to the Breeze version with humidity control. My AHi levels can now be seen and I am worried that my average for the last 7 nights has been 16. Last night it was 40 and my nose now has a large red blister and is very sore. Can this be too high humidity? The mask fit monitor is showing only 1 star so maybe the high number is due to the mask leaking? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome. Breeze version of what machine please... and what mask? What are your pressure settings?
Download Oscar - https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/
and follow info on how to post, what to post (and what not to - calendar isn't needed), and come back to this thread to do it. We can then all see what's what overnight and try to advise re adjusting things. Oscar's the most comprehensive program out there and we'll help you interpret results.

I don't see it on the list of supported machines.
OP may be using the Resvent iBreeze machine of some sort and I have no idea what sort of data is available.

Edit: Oops ... Pugsy already pointed out the OSCAR problem while I was composing my post
If your machine is the ResVent iBreeze, it is not supported by OSCAR.
Does your CPAP machine manufacturer include software to help you evaluate your therapy?
Having only AHI doesn't really help.
Please check YouTube for videos on proper fitting for your mask.
Regarding the AHI, were you congested last night? With some people too much humidity can cause congestion. CPAP machines have problems dealing with congestion.
With an average AHI of 16 it is possible your pressure settings are not optimized or you're been prescribed with the wrong machine.
Around these parts the target AHI is below 2.
Given that you're a new user, please provide a redacted version of your sleep test so we have an idea what type of apneas you experience.
Right now it's best to upload the picture of the sleep test report to an image hosting site (cpaptalk.com currently has a storage shortage)
I use https://imgpile.com/ myself. This hosting site auto generates a embed code like

Good luck.

You're likely tightening the mask too much if you having blisters.mummybearspain wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 5:32 ammy nose now has a large red blister and is very sore. Can this be too high humidity?

Wellue has software for the iBreeze series called iMatrix (Windows only). It's available on the Wellue site under FAQ & Download. It's not as good as OSCAR but is better than nothing.GrumpyHere wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 8:25 am

Re: AHi over 40
Thank you everyone for your input. Yes the machine is a resvent iBreeze C20 version. I tried to add the machine in my profile but it wasn't listed. We are in Spain so that might explain it. I will look at the sites advised and see if we can sort this out. I wasn't congested and the mask isn't too tight as the air sometimes escapes! There is software and all it says is that if it's over 40 it's severe. I think I will contact the machine supplier and see if maybe the pressure is incorrect, it's just been lowered from 8 to 7 mainly due to the freezing air I was getting across my face. The mask is a full face as I can't breathe through my nose very well. I still snore sometimes with the mask on. The only data I can see is the time used, AHi, mask fit and comfort. I reckon I should see the doctor who prescribed it too. The sleep test I did originally last year was showing 35 incidents.
Re: AHi over 40
Since your machine isn't listed in the equipment profile menu how about just adding it to your signature line?
See my signature line for example.
Lowering your pressure to help deal with the cold air problem likely increased the chances of having the airway collapse and more obstructive apnea events to happen.
You probably need more pressure to better prevent the apnea events from happening.
This is all a guess since we don't have real data to rely on but it sure is possible that is what is going on.
For the cold air problem...I don't know if your machine has a heated hose option or not to warm up the air but would be worth trying if you do.

Re: AHi over 40
OP mentions being sure the mask isn't too tight because sometimes air escapes. It may seem illogical, but it is possible that the straps are too tight -- which distorts the seal -- which results in air escaping. I believe Pugsy has mentioned that more often than not the straps are too tight rather than too loose. Something to experiment with.
