Long time user now feeling worse

Post by marcusm » Fri Feb 25, 2022 11:59 am

Quick summary:
- 2+ year user, spent a lot of time here learning and adjusted my settings to pretty much a fixed 11.2 - 13.0 with 95% of 11.8
- Not a great sleeper, light, anxiety, tried some different meds but now stopped.

Problem is:
- Feeling VERY fatigued like pre-cpap. I never had the wonderful CPAP feeling like some instead I have occasional good days, but recently have been waking middle of the night with mild headaches which used to be low O2 i.e Apnea or Hyponea before treatment. Also generally feeling like S**T... heavy chest, bloated, achey etc.

Last night graph attached, woke about 3.30/5.xx,7.xx etc. Always seem to wake early no matter what. I'm not sleep tired but fatigued.

If I had no access to data I would say I am having high AHI and getting low O2... but the results say different. Only thing interesting standing out is 3.30 I think corresponds to a CA (maybe) when I had a mild headache.

I'm not seeing anything in the graphs to account for this feeling.. only think I can think is UARS maybe? Any insights? Thanks very much

Hate to bring it up, but have you seen an MD lately to be checked for other things, potentially not Cpap/OSA related? Just wondering if you still have the headache... and if you've been tested for Covid?

Yep covid negative, got some blood tests next week. Reason I'm pretty sure it's sleep related is a familiar feeling of headache and fatigue from poor quality sleep. You're entirely right it may be something else, but for example I had a 0.00 AHI on Sunday and felt pretty damn good, energy, did some exercise etc, but that is rare and it's not always true even when AHI is 0.00...
I know I suffer from anxiety and sleep light, wondering if I am super sensitive to any RERA (which can't see on Resmed) which may cause enough of an arousal to disturb and screw my sleep up.

I agree it's important to discuss this with your doctor, and I'm glad you're getting some blood tests.

In Oscar, you can zoom in to the flow rate and then scroll across the night. It's time-consuming, but it might give you an idea of the extent to which you're having mini-arousals. I'm attaching an example of what an arousal and short period of wakefulness might look like.

You might also invest in an O2 monitor that's compatible with Oscar. (See the Oximeter Wizard on the welcome page for more information.) Data about O2 could be useful to both you and your doctor.

Thanks, I'm probably being dumb but how can I zoom in and scroll across the flow rate, seem to be able just to select a section of time...
In your example is the arousal when the peaks are shrinking in the middle?

Found the zoom!
Does this look like periodic breathing... my flow rate chart seems to be all over the place. Seem to have flat flow rate in between exhil/inhil...
