Need recommendation for mask that will not interfere with a broken cheekbone
I fell and broke a cheekbone 3.5 weeks ago. I have a large rock-like swelling in my cheek, close to my eye, that isn't going away and is very painful. My current nasal pillows mask has straps that cross the painful area. Two ENT doctors have told me that the broken bone will heal on its own, but I have finally realized that the CPAP mask straps may be impeding my recovery. I need suggestions on masks that don't have straps that cross the cheek area. One such mask I have seen is Bleep.I like nasal pillows masks but would consider a nasal mask. If I use my regular CPAP supplier (Lincare), am I likely to need a new prescription or will the one written for supplies as needed when I got my last CPAP machine, an Airsense 10 with APAP settings, likely suffice? I am asking my dr. for a new mask prescription in case I have to go to a different supplier. Any mask suggestions will be appreciated.
Started CPAP 12/09. Currently use (since 2015) AirSense 10 AutoSet FOR HER.APAP Range: 11-20, AirFit P10 mask. Started home oxygen at 2L on 8/7/20.
Previously (2010 to 2015) APAP, Pressure 10-16. PR System One.. Was Maryland CPAPer 12/09 to 4/20.

You shouldn't need another prescription unless your old RX has an expiration date on it.
The only masks I can think of that don't have straps that will cross your cheeks are the TapPap and the Bleep and I don't know if the TapPap is available any more.
Now I think I have a brand new mouthguard for the TapPap and slightly used other parts in my stash somewhere that I would just give you if you wanted to try it...need to check to make sure though.
And if you are going to be paying out of pocket and not trying to use insurance I have a new package of the Bleep I could sell at a slight reduction in pricing that I just bought last month and haven't opened yet.
Send me a PM if you are interested.
In the meantime I will go look to see if the TapPap is still around.

Looks like the TapPap is still around but I do believe that the Bleep is going to be the easiest to get used to.
The Tap Pap uses a mouth guard to stabilize the pillows and it's really fiddly and will cause some teeth discomfort initially.
I got your PM and responded...
Hey...folks that are Bleep users out here....any hints for helping OP to adjust to the Bleep more easily???

I use the Bleep mask. A few tips:
Do clean the areas where the adhesive will stick. I use alcohol pads. Make sure the area is completely dry - the adhesive won’t stick if you’ve got a runny nose.
At first the connections will be harder to make, you might want to practice on Bleep Dreamports that are not on you first, and get the hang of hearing the clicks. The connectors on the mask get easier after a few uses.
Invest in a hose clip. I clip the hose to my pajamas, so that a sudden tug on the hose won’t rip the seal on the Bleep/nose.
There are videos. I think one of them shows that when you first put on the Dreamports you can plug both with a finger and inhale/exhale slightly to test the seal. I find most of my seal mistakes that way (I don’t have many now, after months of experience). If there is an area that has a weak seal (for some folks this is the tip of the nose) you can cut off the tip of another Dreamport to cover that spot, or use tape there if you have some.

Thanks for the suggestions. I called my DME and they said they don't stock the Bleep but could order it. Thanks to Pugsy for helping me get one sooner.
