Resmed air sense 10 humidity

Post by Dlhvac » Wed Feb 09, 2022 4:25 pm

Resmed air sense 10 so if I understand some of the posts I read unit has humidity sensor and if it senses enough humidity it will not humidify . I have a frigin sinus infection had to go back to dream station one. I had a cpap since 1993 I need more humidity than this junk is putting out is there a way to disable this and let me set the setting. This is rediculous I like the pressure relief on exhale but I cannot tolerate lack of humidity ( my setting) not theirs

Yes....there should be a way to manually increase the humidity in the air delivered by the cpap machine.

First...need to know exactly what your current settings are and are you using a heated hose or non heated hose.
Second...do you happen to know the ambient humidity in your bedroom? Or at least where you live and BTW where do you live?

If you change the Climate Control to MANUAL (I'm assuming it's at AUTO now), you can then dial humidity from OFF to Level 8.

Hopefully that's it and you can experiment and change it to 6-8 and enjoy your humidity. Watch out for rainout though!!

I have the same model and it should be easy to take Humidity out of Auto mode.

I was thinking of doing that myself but in auto I am using 75% of the water tank each night. Any higher and I am afraid I would run it dry. That and you have to manually increase your hose temp to match but I guess if the humidity is on max and hose temp is on max it should be okay.

What is your Tube Temperature?

I recently switched Humidity to Auto. My tube temp is (and has been) 64 degrees.
I noted a drastic reduction in the amount of water used per night - with it being in Auto Humidity.

Have to check manual but I keep both humidity and hose temp on auto. I think auto is 80 F degrees tube heat and 85% relative humidity.

Also, I have house at 68% and room humidity is around 19%. I believe the auto humidity mode tries to keep 85% humidity depending on room or hose temperature. I am not sure which it looks at. I am pretty sure you need to raise hose heat level to get more humidity or else you will get rain out which is what the humidity auto mode aims to prevent.

I am VERY new to this but is seems to me getting your hose temp over 80 degrees would be something I would look at first. I am sure there are more knowledgeable people who could give you better advice.

Thanks.

Joe.
