And here I was defending re$med saying they know what they are doing.
The DC-DC converter was designed shut off to save the battery.

I'm pretty sure the re$med design engineers knew the cpap device would not power on (or would shut off) if/when the incoming DC voltage was too low.

IMHO any engineer, self proclaimed or otherwise, would understand that Ohm's Law says that as the voltage drops the current will decrease making it impossible to "burn up" said circuit or components.

I am. However, as you indicate, it isn't entirely effective. It makes some threads tough to follow, as posts that reference or reply to the foe's obscured post appear out of context. And obscuring those posts often leaves misinformation to stand unchallenged, which is a disservice to everyone and particularly to new members who come here seeking legitimate information. That all makes using the foe list a tough call for me, but maybe I'll get there eventually.

So I got the AirSense DC/DC to use with my deep cycle battery for camping with my resmed 11. It powers up, runs for awhile but intermittently shuts off - not sure if that is the power threshold you were talking about Scott. I don't know if you have recommendations for settings or to improve my setup so that it actually works consistently. I used to use battery -> converter/inverter? or something -> dc for my resmed 10 that died.

Is the battery fully charged? How old is it?

Best guess is that (under load) it is dropping below 11.4V -- at which point the AirMini DC/DC converter will simply shut down. After the battery rests a while, it might be able to muster >11.4V again for a short time. Best way to "prove" that is (or isn't) what's happening is with a logging multimeter connected to the battery during use if you or a friend/neighbor has one.

A healthy, fully charged "car sized" deep cycle (i.e., 55-75AH) 12V battery should handle the Airsense11 (via the AirMini DC/DC converter) for at least 10-15 hours with humidifier and tube on -- or maybe 2-3 times that long with just the -- before the voltage drops below the 11.4V the converter needs. That's an estimate of course, and actual runtime will vary based on ambient temps, pressures, flows, etc.

Yeah fully charged battery, maybe a year old. I did notice the light went orange and green depending on if I was exhaling or inhaling, which seemed weird. I have tried my deep cycle battery directly connected to the air mini converter and plugged into a piece I had with my old setup that had the red/black -> 12v. Your setup is just your deep cycle battery -> converter? I'll have to look into the multimeter to double check, but I imagine it is the power draw dipping. Are there products that force it to draw a minimum amount? Or does it sound like I have something hooked up wrong?

Color me silly I thought it was you who said that when the voltage went low Airsense 11 could burn up
