I was able to get my numbers off my machine and I have a couple questions. What does the leak number mean. Is that good or bad? Would this show any mouth breathing that may be going on? I assuming that AHI is ok I was tested at 18.7 in my SS. And finally what does the AI and HI numbers represent? I have the Resmed S8 elite.
LEAK:0.12L/s
AHI:4.4
AI:0.2
HI:4.2
Thanks all

My numbers and a couple questions
Very good!
Dave:
You are doing very well! Your leak numbers are very good, ie: 0.12l/s =0.12x60sec=7.2l/m, GREAT! Your apnea index AI (the most important one) 0.2 almost perfect treatment, and the HI (partial obstructions) not bad at all IMO. Yes your AHI being under 5.0 is considered normal!
Hope this helps,
Steve,

On a Resmed S8, if you have the mask set correctly in the menu, any leak shown is a genuine air leak but 0.12 is on the low side.
I will get figures as low as 0.02 on one machine I have. I also have an S8 Escape & that will typically be 0.00 (I use a Resmed Ultra Mirage F/F mask).
The HI indication is usually higher on Resmed machines that if you slept with a Respironics machine & looked at the nights data. On My Remstar AUTO I rarely got the same high HI numbers I get using Resmed machines. This difference hasn't caused me any real concern. I did wonder why Resmed machines show higher HI #s in general. Many other here have reported this same issue.
All in all your numbers are good allowing that the biggest part of the AHI# is the HI part.
Good going

Hi Dave,Does that leak number mean only mask leaks or is it mouth leaking also?
That's all leaks mate. I doubt if your mouth leaking much with a leak figure of 0.12. A better indicator is are you waking up with a dry mouth. I use the Swift as well, and I find if I open my mouth the resulting rush of air is quite unpleasant and not something I could sleep through. Like the other guys said, your Apnoea Hypopnea Index (AHI) figures are pretty good, so I wouldn't worry too much about leaks.
Good Luck,
Peter
