Dream station intermittent Humidifier

Post by elkcaddis » Sun Sep 26, 2021 8:56 am

I have had the dream station for about 2 weeks as an update since I had my other machine for 10 years. I have the heated tube and hoped it would help with condensation build up in my tube that I had with my old machine.
When I turn it on it heats up, humidity setting on 5. In the morning when I go to feel the hot plate it is cold and so is the water. The heated tube I have on 0, and have tried different settings. I wake up with my mouth dry and glued shut. I have a nasal mask.
Should I try a new heater???
And yes I turned off the auto adjust.
Thanks

Heated tube set to 0 means the heated hose itself is turned off.
Hose air temp as absolutely nothing to do with the amount of humidity being delivered.
You need to check for warmth at the beginning of the night after about 15 minutes of the machine being on to see if it is working or not.
See this thread...yes I know a different brand but the reasons are the same.

Dry mouth and using a nasal mask....first suspect is mouth breathing and NOT humidifier setting.
You aren't getting any humidified air in your mouth....it all goes up the nose.

Since you're asking about a "new heater," I suspect that you have a DreamStation1 (which is white). This machine is under recall, you should use a different machine if at all possible (such as your old one).

In the DreamStation2 (which is black), the heater is inseparable from the unit, so you cannot use a new heater short of replacing the entire unit.

Ok, thanks I will start using my resmed again and get a better hose insulater to help with condensation.
