Review my numbers: Help with supine sleeping/high AHI vs side

Post by SleeplessInDayton » Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:35 am

Looking for some guidance....have read about supine versus side sleeping, but trying to figure out what I can do to sleep on my back sometimes...

Just re-starting out (less than a week now) and I am feeling great, not able to sleep without waking a few times, but honestly don't care, I feel better and the mask works for me!

That said, I am diagnosed positional, with right side at <5 AHI, but supine of 35 AHI from several years ago (waiting my home study results from last night for changes).

I am seeing significant difference when I try to sleep on my back (which I want to be able to do sometimes!).

Here is a typical evening results, with overall AHI of ~2, but with the second session only I tried on my back twice, with over ~6AHI. Even then, I know I turned to my side to between.

Given I am currently prescribed the broad range of 6 to 16, too me I should be more like 8 to 16, but I feel like my back sleeping never gets to max because I change positions before pressure autoset's back down. Anyone have advice?

Looking for some guidance.
bump your minimum, at least to 8. see how your pressure starts at 6 but never goes back down? give it a head start.

heck, bump it to 10 if you want.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Thanks for pointing that out...I wasnt sure how much I should jump it up to....went with 8 (was closer to median pressure), and had best night so far all on my side though! I can certainly see longer "saw tooth" behaviors for the pressure with the change. No back sleeping last night, so will see if that improves this evening.

back sleeping is a nemesis of many of us. i certainly know it is for me.

we'll see if you have enough pressure to deal with it.

good luck!
