Make mask or skin less slippery so mask won't slip
Re: Make mask or skin less slippery so mask won't slip
I think you're right - my jaw must be dropping. I'm going to try a cervical collar or maybe a small pillow of the right size under my jaw, resting on the clavicles.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Remember when all you did at bedtime was go to bed, now it's like a theatrical production when you get ready to go to bed.

I’m just experimenting, haven’t actually tried this yet; I have a small pillow with loops on either end that I could put a ribbon through and just connect behind my neck or I could use another small pillow perpendicular to the one under the chin to support it. If this doesn’t work I’ll try a cervical collar rather than trying to reinvent the wheel.

A dog bone pillow---small? Them things are massive!
I would follow the "brandy keg protocol", where a comfortable size
section of pool noodle would be covered with microfiber
and threaded with elastic, like a big fuzzy bead on a choker.

I would just get a properly fitted cervical collar. People (who have never used one) just do not seem to realize how quickly they will get comfortable with them. It took me about an hour. One may have to lower the bedroom temperature. I sleep better in a cool bedroom.
YMMV as always.

Re: Make mask or skin less slippery so mask won't slip
I ordered a "comfort" cervical collar from Amazon and tried it on for the first time last night. It was so uncomfortable in the back of my head I didn't even try to sleep in it. I usually sleep on my back. Wouldn't any cervical collar be uncomfortable lying on it with the back of your head?
BTW-what is a "brandy keg protocol?" How would one get a pool noodle covered with microfiber.
Thanks,
Richard

Worn properly, it doesn't touch the back of the head. It wraps around to the back of the neck.
I'm an elderly, smallish woman and have worn a 4-inch firm foam cervical collar for at least a decade. Always sleep on my back. YMMV

Yay, the Eliminator is back! As you can see, it just has a strap in the back. It offers fairly firm support to the jaw. Back when I used it, if I adjusted it just right, it would hold the tip of my chin in position very comfortably. Be sure it's not so loose that your chin can tuck down inside it.
