I need to buy a new cpap. I've had my resmed for over a decade.
Are there any new highly recommended machines? Any to avoid?
Any stores-regular or online- to avoid? I'll be either paying out-of-pocket or medicare. I'm new to medicare so I have to check on that today.
I use the tappap mask, but I assume any machine should be compatible with any mask.
Thanks for your time,
Janey

Yes, any mask should be compatible with any machine. Avoid machines made by Phillips Respironics, which are under a recall at this time. I think many people here would warmly recommend the ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset. There's a "For Her" version that has an extra algorithm, so that's worth looking for.
ResMed is just coming out with an Airsense 11 Autoset, which has the "For Her" option built in. This new model isn't yet widely available, and as far as I know, you'd do basically just as well with the 10 For Her.
Medicare should cover this, but you may need to go through some hoops, so start investigating soon. Others will perhaps chime in with more information about that.
I've had good experiences with CPAP.com and The CPAPShop.com.

This can be found in the Medicare/providers site online.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 11:53 amFind out which local DMEs are in the Medicare network.
You can phone the ones that you are considering.

Not many online providers will take Medicare.
One that will is Verus call and ask them what they need.

I just had an extremely great experience with secondwindcpap.com
After initially browsing their site, I called on the phone and received absolutely stellar service
