Cpap and stress
Re: Cpap and stress
Everyone has stress at one time or another.
Personally I use my machine no matter what. (excepting when actively vomiting)

Re: Cpap and stress
Sure, it's not easy having to have a thing on your face at night and all that goes with it - not 'natural', and some people have to acclimate gradually to using it, sometimes finding masks that are more comfortable, understanding the Cpap is helping them and not using it is a bad idea, etc. etc., but if you have stress for any reason, Cpap or not, you need to talk to your doctor and deal with that, not grab a chance to quit Cpap.

Re: Cpap and stress
The mind is a powerful tool. Sometimes your best friend and sometimes your own worst enemy.
When it is telling you that it doesn't want to use the cpap it's not being your friend. I know it's easier said than done but you need to learn to tell it you aren't going to listen to it.
Don't listen to that little devil on your shoulder.
Talk to your doctor about your stress and whatever it is coming from and how much it impacts your daily life.
Use the cpap during the day while awake...just so you can learn to associate its use with relaxation and maybe meditate a bit during use. Try to train the mind to associate cpap use with relaxing.

Re: Cpap and stress
have you been using your machine for three years and not used to it yet? or has this been an ongoing thing?
i ask because if you were new to this, i'd advise you to try hooking up to your machine but leave it off. do this while NOT in bed but somewhere else. and watch tv. or read. or do something else to occupy your mind while your brain gets used to it.
but if you've been on the machine for three years, i think it may be time to seek a medical opinion and see if there is anything that can be done about the stress.
just my opinion. good luck!
eta: ah! i see pugsy is saying the same thing. that always makes me feel better about any advice i give!
