Resperdonix versus Resmed

Post by Woody » Sat Jul 31, 2021 6:31 am

My theripy with my Dreamstation Auto wasn't going all that well with a 95% presure of 18 to 20 and an average AHI of 8.9 .
When I heard of this recall I pulled an old ResMed S9 Elite out of the closest set it to a presure of 15 and got an AHI of 4.8 .
Then as a check I hooked an old ResMed S8 Vantage auto up set for 12 to 16 and it let me have an AHI of 5.2 with a 95%
presure of only 13 . In the mean time my DR. sent in an order for a new ResMed Aircurve Vauto set to 24 inhale 20 exhale.
My last sleep study had come back calling for a bipap set to that presure but in thinking back I believe a Dreamstation ASV
was involved in the test and wonder if that's why I dis so bad. The first 2 nights with my new ResMed here horrible with an
AHI if 11.45 and 9.15 then my Dr. reduced the presure to 17 inhale 13 exhale and I now have a average AHI of 3.2 . Now
for the punch line. Yesterday at a yard sale I met a former engineer form Resperdonix who is also a cpap user. He told
me he haden't heard about this recall and any way he no longer used a Resperdonix cpap he had switched to a ResMed a
couple of years earlier.

If you Google it, try using 'Respironics' instead of Resperdonix.. may get better answers. :D

You are working with a S8 Auto, An S9 Fixed pressure, A VAUTO BIlevel and an ASV. 4 different methods of therapy. I have no idea if there is a question in here somewhere.

Woody has always been inclined toward whimsical spelling.
It does get old, though.

don't you just HATE it when someone corrects your spelling?

(Ahem), I have not had that problem, (but my skill is hereditary, not my doing).
but I had a colleague work very hard to become a better speller.
I admire her effort, and disapprove of those who affect poor spelling for a joke.
I can tell because of the writer's choice of simple words to "misspell".
