I had an interesting trip to the hosp 6/15. Here's a link https://imgur.com/skW4t6n to my wife's transcription of our recollection of the party.

I've now been diagnosed with early stage heart disease and atrial flutter. I was diagnosed as having pleural effusion and a few drugs were added when I left. Chest x-ray yesterday showed "effusion resolved." While there, they had me on Lasix.

I bought a pulse oximeter last week and it's often showing my pulse to be abt 130-140ish; sometimes 68 - 74.

The O2Sat often seems lower for me than it has been in doctor's offices and sleep studies. Never below 97 in a doctor's office. When I got up this AM it sure as heck looked like it was 63. At noonish it was 88'; up to abt 85 a few minutes ago. I'm checking it about 5 times a day. If the O2sat goes relatively low enough for me, might that cause the RR to go up to compensate for the lower O2sat. A nighttime RR of 14 always corressponds yo horrible fatigue the next day. I've had that problem for months now..

I know there are many with worse numbers but when you add that wallop of drugs to 66 years you're apt to get a different result than you will in someone whose systems have not been comprimised to such a degree.

Thanks.

I'm really sorry to hear about the early stage heart failure. They have some good medications to treat that these days and hopefully with a little time to sort them out, you'll be feeling better than you are now.

I was in the hospital last weekend due to atrial flutter that caused me to go completely limp in about a second . My wife got me in bed and a few minutes later my arms began to shake uncontrollably. My pulse was 135/ AMR took me to that place where I hang out a lot.

Several EKgs were performed and two chest x-rays were taken over the next two days. I was given a cardioversion shock Monday AM and released at about 2PM.
