SD Card Question

Post by Gator5000e » Thu Jul 08, 2021 10:33 am

I had my first ResMed for a few years. When a problem developed I bought a replacement one. Same model Airsense 10. When i got the new machine i took the SD card out of the old machine, loaded it into Oscar and them copied the entire card to my computer.

I them got a new SD card and copied all the data from the first card to the new card. I then used the new card in the new machine. Ive been using the new machine for about 5 days.

It now appears the only data on the new card is the card is from those 4-5 days and all the data i copied over to the new card is gone.

Is there any way of putting the ild data on the new card and have it not be overwritten by the new machine?

Hope this makes some sense.

Thanks.

ResMed machines in the past (S9) have historically not wanted to play nice with a SD card that had any other files on it other than the machine's own files.

I haven't heard about what the AirSense/AirCurve models would do if a person had any other files on the SD from either another machine or whatever. I haven't tried myself to see what would happen....guess I need to try it but it sure sounds like the machine being used doesn't want data from another machine on the SD card.

It shouldn't have been something as simple as just overwriting the old data files though....I would think it should have prompted a person that it didn't like those files being there and ask for a confirmation to remove the files. That's what the S9 would do. It at least gave us a choice.
Though again, I haven't actually done it to see what would happen.

Air10 machines are now fine with non-resmed files on the SD Card, but the ResMed data files can only come from one machine.

Should you insert an SD Card with data from another ResMed device you will get the message:
SD card for another device detected, continue using SD card?:
* Yes - Deletes all previous session data
* No - Keeps previous sessions but prompted “Remove SD Card to continue therapy"

I am going to try again and copy the data only (not the settings and other files) to my new SD card and see what happens when I re-insert it back into the Airsense. I'll report back if anyone cares.

Thanks.

I agree with PR...Why would you go back to look at old data? What good does it do yo look back at data from past years? Personally I am only concerned with how I am doing now. If someone does go back to look at their old data, I would be interested in the purpose.

I've just loaded all mine into Oscar, and if I want to do anything with it, it's in there.
