Airline travel with CPAP

Post by sgreenberg330 » Wed Jan 10, 2007 8:12 pm

Has anyone used their CPAP with a power adapter on an airline flight? What are the issues? Will the airlines allow it?

Contact your airline as they all have different philisophies, some provide power, some say you have to use a battery and some won't let you fly at all (yes it's true).

US Air was cool

I just flew on US Air with my Respironics CPAP in two and when I got to the check in, before I could say this is a medical device they said "CPAP?" to me. So they knew what it was, although they did take it and plug it in to make sure it was the real deal. I've flown once before with it last year and had a similar situation. (Mine runs off the wall, so there was no battery to provide)
