Cannot get Oscar to import new data

Hi Ya'll,

I am having a problem getting Oscar to import MORE data into Oscar.
The last time I used Oscar was back at the beginning of May it says.

* I put my card into my reader

* opened Oscar and hit IMPORT DATA ( the button in the middle of the screen)

it says its importing data but then a box pops up asking me to open a folder.

umm what folder am I supposed to be opening?

I tried going to my OSCAR folder and clicking PROFILES then my profile name, but that did not work.

Sounds like it's not seeing anything on your card, or not seeing the card.

I don't understand why the card is not being read? I was able to import data into Oscar back in May?

I think I got it... I think the gold bar on the bottom of the SD card goes in facing up and the label should be facing down.

Because I just tried again with that configuration and I got this pop up when I inserted the card into the reader and then inserted the reader into the USB slot on my tower!


*EDIT* OH and guess who forgot to put their card back into the machine last night!

If I put the card back in, will it save last nights data or is that information lost?

Sounds like the card was right-side-up and your computer was upside down.

Very little data is retained in the machine.--usage, run hours, settings, not much more.
Live and learn; anybody can do it that way--helps your memory--we hope . . .

As Froggy mentioned, summary data is saved, but the detailed data is lost. Don't sweat it - it's only one night.

Actually it looks like a Respironics file/machine and with Respironics machines if the SD card is left in the computer and not returned to the machine you only lose the flow rate graph.
So you can get a lot more than the usual summery stuff. Only the flow rate graph is lost and that's because it isn't stored on the machine like all the other detailed files.

Now ResMed machines...if the SD card isn't in the machine you only get the summary stuff.

It doesn't work on my win7 machine but maybe will work for your configuration.

Check OSCAR under
File - Preferences - General - Show Remove Card reminder notification on OSCAR shutdown.

in my case, i often feel the computer is right side up and *I'M* upside down.
