What is everybody doing about the recall?

Post by D.H. » Sun Jun 27, 2021 9:30 am

Given that I’m affected by the recall and using an older machine (the forth bullet below), I wonder what everybody else is doing. Here are some possibilities (please let me know if I left anything out). Some of the categories might sound ridiculous, as I don’t want to omit any possibility.

• I checked my serial number and my unit is not affected.
• I am using the unit even though I believe (or know for a fact) that it is affected.
• My unit is another make or an unaffected model.
• I was able to obtain (or borrow) a replacement CPAP that I’m using.
• I’m using an old CPAP that I had before.
• I am going without CPAP therapy.

Since I just started with the therapy recently, and that I had to buy the DS with my own money, right now I am going without CPAP therapy, and hopefully I'll be able to get my money back and get Resmed.

Why didn't you break out that old Russian made hand crank model you used to brag about.

That old "Nyet Spat"" brand machine. :?

If Philips-Respironics expects to continue doing business in the health sector,
they better do SOMETHING---FAST!
Seriously, the first thing they should do is eliminate the
PAYWALL DATA ENCRYPTION
on the new models--which is driving business to their competitors.
EDIT:
AND FIX THE FOAM THINGY--ASAP!

Where did you go to get the serial numbers of the affected units?

We should be doing a Worldwide Recall Petition against this user-data hostage taking
Patients should always, firstly, and independently so, own their own data, saved locally by default, with encryption they own a key to, and have the prerogative of sharing it (or deciding not to share it) with their medical providers, or any entity, or anybody else

The cpap manufacturers do not care about us. Their customer is the DME companies that sell the machines. They will make software that can read the machine data available to the DMEs and doctors. Most of the DMEs and doctors do not want us taking charge of our own treatment. They want us to be dependent on them (think $$$$).
