Resmed Humidifier Not Very Warm
Resmed Humidifier Not Very Warm
I'm on day 3 of using a Resmed Aircurve after being a Respironics user. With Respironics my water tank lowered quite a bit during the night and the heat plate was hot to the touch. With Resmed I don't seem to be using much water during the night. I didn't think of checking for how warm the heat plate was so I ran a 15 minute warm up cycle and the heat plate was barely warm. Does this sound right? FYI humidity level in the house is about 50% and I have the humidity level set to 5.

Re: Resmed Humidifier Not Very Warm
I did a similar warmup test on my ResMed Airsense 10 Auto and noticed the plate was not very warm either. On a typical night in our house with a RH of 50% (outside is usually 85% in summer as we are in the Deep South) I use somewhere between 2/3 of my water reservoir to almost none. I have not thought about why some nights I use more than others, just noticed that it is not always consistent. Not of much value in figuring out your specific situation, but it is some background information.

Re: Resmed Humidifier Not Very Warm
Thank you for the info. I paid a little more attention from last night. I filled the water chamber to the half way marker line and this morning the water was down to the 1/4 marker line. So it is indeed working and using water. The Resmed humidifier is built in while the Respironics is a separate unit so I don't know if that figures into why I think the Philips humidifier plate felt hotter to the touch than the Resmed.Jlfinkels wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 7:37 amI did a similar warmup test on my ResMed Airsense 10 Auto and noticed the plate was not very warm either. Also I was not given the Climateline tubing with the machine. The DME on my request sent me one so tonight I will use the Climateline and see what difference if any that makes.

Re: Resmed Humidifier Not Very Warm
Due to economy, most electric heating elements are not continually on.
Instead, they cycle on and off to maintain an average temperature
of the area being heated.
The temperature of the heating plate can vary considerably, depending on the cycle.
It is designed to stay within a safe temperature range--to prevent burns.
If a probe could be placed in the water, the result would be far more accurate.
I have yet to see a sensor tank.
