CPAP Desperate for feedback

Post by Steven3467 » Tue May 25, 2021 10:45 am

Hi CPAP friends...I just started using my CPAP this past weekend. I have tried it in the past but experienced a lot of grinding. My dentist has made me a custom night guard which I also started Saturday evening with the CPAP. I am using a nasal mask and my AHI readings have been around 3.8-4.1 the last few nights, which I am told is good. That said, I am still really tired throughout the day. My doctor and several people I know who have used CPAP say that it can actually take weeks before the CPAP truly starts to work and that all of a sudden I'll start to feel better/energized. For my brother it was instant, but his doc said that is rare. So, I am being told to be patient and let my body adjust and eventually I'll feel good. Is that accurate to you all? You have so much wisdom I've read on this site and I would appreciate your feedback. It will help me get through this! Basically my doctor said to be patient for a month...thanks all for your feedback!

The changes can be gradual.
I had better sleep within a week, but was still out of breath walking over a block.
3 months later, imagine my surprise when I could RUN 2 blocks without panting!

How's your sleep quality? Sleeping soundly or waking often for some reason or other?

What is the event category breakdown of your AHI?
