That's a great example of the use of the filters.
I once brought my CPAP machine to an old hotel in Québec city, Québec, Canada. I of course brought my CPAP machine to get a good night's sleep...then in the morning when I removed the CPAP mask....Whoah! The pungent stench of old, ancient carcinogenic cigarette smoke! Of course, my olfactory bulbs got used to it, and several minutes later, the smell was, "gone".
When I descended to the lobby I asked the bellboy: "This hotel is non-smoking...but I smelled cigarette smoke in my room when I awoke this morning ?!" The bellboy smiled uncomfortably and knowing more than he let on...'Yes, they have worked hard to remove the cigarette/cigar smell from the rooms, but this used to be 'smoking-allowed' back before it was banned in this hotel.'
So, looks like the CPAP filters really work....in a highly air polluted (parts per million) environment, but if you are in an already "clean" environment (like a non-smoking, tropical paradise island): Do we really need the filters? Let's discuss.
