I’ve been using a Dreamwear full face mask since I started using a cpap a few months ago, but it’s starting to get uncomfortable with the warmer weather and my excessive sweating. Today I’m trying out the Respironics Dreamwear gel cushion. Anything I need to know for the switch? I’m primarily a mouth breather but I’m curious if I can nose breathe.
Also, what setting should I put it on with my Airsense 10? It gives me three mask options: pillows, full face, and nasal. Not sure if it should be pillows or nasal? I assume pillows, but wanted to be certain. I attached a pic of the one I’m using.

MACHINE: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset
MASK: Philips Respironics Dreamwear full face

Kind of confusing when you read the description......It really does not make a lot of difference, but I would guess Pillows.

I thought I was a total mouth breather too, but had no trouble adjusting to nasal pillows. There's something about air being forced into your nose that makes you close your mouth. Good luck!

The "pillow" selection for mask type is probably the best bet but if you chose "nasal" it probably wouldn't make enough difference to notice.
Similar cradle cushion masks made by ResMed say to use "pillow". It has more to do with the inherent resistance in the mask than it does anything else.
It's not the end of the world if we choose the "wrong" mask type setting. I once spent nearly a week trying a full face mask after using pillow mask and forgot to change from pillows to full face and when I finally remember and changed it...nothing really changed.
Data didn't change...it didn't feel any different either. The difference between nasal and pillows is even less.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

Appreciate all the reponses! Turns I had no trouble adjusting to nose breathing the first night. I use a body pillow and usually have it jammed up under my chin, so I think that helped with keeping my mouth shut

I’m using the same nasal device, only change I made was adjusting my DreamStation mask type according to the manual included with the mask, in my case a type X2 (medium size)

I'm looking to swap from nasal to nasal pillow too. Only for the fact that I'm unable to wear my glasses...

I am currently using the Philips gel. I swap back and forth between that and Bleep. I can't seem to get a seal with Bleep but that is another story.
I have been taping my mouth shut with Hypafix 2" tape to keep from mouth breathing or snoring. I takes a little getting used to but works very well. Hypafix does breath just a little so it doesn't make you feel like your air source is completely cut off. It sticks very well so a dog ear on a corner is good to grab it to remove. My Aircurve 10 was set at nasal from using the Bleep and my AHI is almost always under 1 so the combo seems to work.
