why doesn't the machine respond to the OAs by going above 12? The pressure graph looks as though it was for settings with a range of 11 to 12.
It won't do anything when centrals/CAs are present and I suspect that part of algorithm is overriding the auto adjusting for OAs part.
It looks almost like EZ Start is enabled.....which I wouldn't suspect it to be on...maybe it was/is. Probably should verify by looking at the entire settings list I guess (which we can't see on this screen shot).

It also wouldn't be impossible for those OAs to be more central in nature than obstructive in nature or simply misidentified. I saw it once before on a man's Respironics report that was having massive OA flagging along with massive CSR flagging and they were real CSR...and the OAs were really CAs. The machine can get it wrong.

None of this makes a lot of sense. Puts a whole new perspective to the YMMV thing.

To OP....

I suppose we need to take that crash course in arousal vs asleep flagged events.
Would be impossible to evaluate accurately on the really high AHI nights but AHI of 11 night would be fairly easy.

Bear in mind that while the videos at the link above are mainly talking about centrals/CAs....we can have false positive arousal flagged events in any event category. It's not limited to centrals.

Increase your minimum pressure 1 cm again please.

Pretty amazing results. Just to check, the only changes are that flex is off and the minimum has been increased from 11 to 13?

Yes, that is correct. I had actually increased the minimum from 11 to 12 two or three nights ago on advice, and then last night I went up to 13.
The only other possible difference, is that I MAY have slept with the recliner a hair more upright last night, but nothing really noteworthy....

I would run with these settings for a week or so and see if the results hold.
Centrals are a little less than a third of the AHI and if this pattern continues I think a trial with maybe 13.5 cm minimum might be a good experiment.

Main thing though....how are you sleeping and feeling?

Thank you for that....
The last two nights have been the best I have slept in some time. No memory of dreaming or nightmares, and no middle of night bathroom trip.
Felt good yesterday, and so far ditto today. No afternoon nap, and most notable, not draggin ass after dinner!

Appreciate the help so much!!

Mike

That's what we want to hear. I am crossing my fingers that this will hold for you and get you where you want to be.
If it does then we are in the very small tweaking stage for doing maybe later but I like to see settings be used for a period of time to make sure that we are establishing a real trend. Also sometimes with just time the AHI will reduce a bit on its own as the body adjusts to the settings and new way of doing things. I know that happened to me...I did an experiment once where I didn't change anything for 6 weeks and at the end of the 6 weeks my AHI was 50% reduced and I never changed anything.

The centrals/CAs we don't expect them to reduce with more pressure but the OAs and hyponeas we do expect.
If you weren't reporting doing better overall we might be a little more aggressive with the increases still yet but at this point I think it is time to "give it time" and see what happens.

Your AHI is going to vary a bit from night to night anyway because we simply don't sleep the same each night so I some variance is normal and to be expected.

Pugsy,
Being fairly new to the board, I have no clue to your background, and obvious understanding of the problem, as well as the cure....
Regardless, just nice that in a very bizarre time in our world, there are still people that want to help others......and I for one appreciate it!!

Regards,
Mike
