I will be retiring soon and am updating my CPAP equipment because I have a known quantity in my present insurance. I've been using CPAP nearly 100% for about 14 years. I have had two machines that I used for travel - a Aeiomed Everest that I still use as a fixed machine in a summer cabin without the worn out battery, and an APAP Transcend 2 which has been several trips overseas, on hiking and canoe trips, and many car trips. I have the battery and solar "charger" for the Transcend (quotations because it doesn't work but a hack with a Biolite solar charger does). It is very loud, skids around due to not being flat on the bottom, and hard to run and update but is also light and has been pretty durable (albeit with some Gorilla Tape). Time for an upgrade! I received great advice here last year on a new home machine (bought the Resmed AirSense 10 and love it). I know whatever I get will be loud but likely better than the current machine (even with muffler). I am interested in data but am at peace with adjusting to how I feel and maybe a quick verification. I must have a battery (hopefully flexible enough to use a car and solar charger). I am leaning toward the AirMIni since I like its big brother/sister but am very open to recommendations/suggestions.
Thanks !!!
Chris

Others will come in with more info, but... have you tried an old mouse pad underneath the Trans to keep it stable?

Wow! I didn't realize how much I wrote until I saw it on the site. Sorry to all that actually waded though it.
Great idea. I just used a used bean bag with some of the non-slip shelf material. A mouse pad would fill the gap and help the slipping in one shot. Thanks.

I think you will get some answers, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of members who do overnight trips away from a stationary power source.
You might want to review the machine specs and customer reviews at our sponsor's business page - https://www.cpap.com/plp/travel-cpap-machine/ZT0yNzQ
Re: One More Time on Travel Machine Recommendations
I just purchased a Transcend 3 miniCPAP Auto as a travel machine. (I use an Airsense 10 at home). So far, I am very happy with it. It is certainly louder than my home machine (fan noise), but not horrible. My wife says she doesn't notice it being louder. I have used it for 3 nights so far. It was nice to get a good night's sleep off the grid!
It is flat on the bottom and has a rubber "gasket" around the bottom that keeps it from moving around and helps minimize vibration. I also purchased the P8 battery. The first time I used it, I got 2 nights out of it. I did use the solar charger to "recharge" after the first night but I doubt is did much (see below).
I am very interested in your hack for the solar charger for your Transend. I bought the Transcend Solar Charger and am not impressed. Over 16 hours in direct Florida sun did not fully charge the after less than 8 hours of use. I am looking for a solution that will allow we to run for 6-7 nights without having to carry more than 2 batteries.

Re: One More Time on Travel Machine Recommendations
I use an AirMini for travel. I like that I can set it up EXACTLY like my Airsense 10 Autoset for Her. The only downside for me is the lack of humidification--my hack to allow me to use my preferred Bleep mask removed the HME. However, the hack also SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the noise! And the smaller packing and lighter weight is a no-brainer for me! My AirMini packs in a soft quilted Vera Bradley lunchbox and fits in either my large purse or backpack (my personal item) when flying. And that lunchbox holds the AirMini, hose, power supply, mounting for bed and/or nightstand, travel adaptor, Bleep interface, a few extra Dreamports, and my silicone eye mask!

Thanks for replying to my "too much information" post! I try to will make a decision this weekend.
Rich, I will check with my electrical engineer son as to how he made a mini USB to Transcend plug converter and get back. I think you can get the bigger capacity lithium batteries that will work with the Transcend vehicle outlet connector too.
