Airsense 10 Warranty/Repairs

Post by gregnga » Thu Mar 25, 2021 8:29 pm

I have a Resmed Airsense 10. I've had it for maybe 4 years. Here lately it has gotten rather loud and prevents me from sleeping well. It makes this whirling whistling noise. Does anyone know what the warranty is on one of these and how to get maintenance/repair work done on it, if needed.

It only had a 2 year warranty from the manufacturer.
It's going to be your money paying for any repairs and it likely will cost almost as much to repair it as it is worth.
I would be shopping for a new machine if it was me.

You can call acbio.com and get an idea as to repair costs...they repair cpap machines.

You don't have any warranty left though....so all on your dime.
Usually weird noises coming from a machine that used to be quiet means something in the blower unit is starting to fail.

I'm in a similar boat as you. It's driving me nuts. I'm trying to hold out until hopefully ResMed releases a successor.

You could have a goodly wait.
Grab an airsense 10 while you can--autoset, of course.
Somewhere warehouses are bulging and prices are dropping.
First adopters get stuck with buggy early rollouts--beta for a premium price.
Not as cool as they want you to believe.

There are great deals out there on the Airsense...30-40% off.

I am considering getting a Dream Station by Phillips Respironics. It looks like my current Airsense 10 is going bad after just 4 years. I previously had a Remstar Auto C-Flex (aka "the tank") by Respironics. I loved that machine and I got a lot of good use out of it. I still have it and it still works. So, I have a little bit of affection for Respironics.

I know, it'll open up a can of worms. But how does the Dream Station stack up against the Airsense 10?

Is yours an Airsense 10. If so, how old?

I purchased it Oct 2016 so it's about 4.5 years old now, and yes, it's an AS 10.

I tried the Dreamstation when I got my Airsense 3 years ago. I found it a little louder. Not a lot, but noticeable, so I went with the Airsense. I knew it would bother me in a silent bedroom.

Whistling is a sign of an air leak. Could it be in your hose? Pull the hose off and try it.

Why do you say while you can?

Never mind I see the 11 will be released soon.

An early adopter, I see.
They will be happy to take your money.
I hope you will be just as happy to take whatever you get.
Paying to be a beta-tester!
They are happy to use you--just not very grateful.

Suggesting that the AirSense 10 will soon be unavailable and difficult to come by, is premature, at best.
  • We don't know how soon the AirSense 11 will be released
  • After the release of the AirSense 11, that does not mean ResMed will immediately stop production of the AirSense 10
  • Even after AirSense 10 production stops, we have no idea what the inventory levels will be.
  • After release of the AirSense 10 models (2014), the S9 models stayed in production until at least 2016 and were available for new purchase, for years after that.
