Recently diagnosed with mild Apnea

Post by philipg33 » Tue Mar 23, 2021 1:20 pm

Hello all, I just got my sleep study back and was diagnosed with mild Apnea. My sleep time analyzed was 401 minutes. In that time I had 34 Apneas. I had 66 Hypopneas. My Apenas were listed as 24 OBS Apenas and 10 Central (havent looked that up yet). Average Apnea duration 17 seconds, Average Hypopnea duration 20 seconds. My Oximetry had 0% times below 88% . I had 11 desaturations and my lowest read was 92%. My baseline was 98%. AH!: 6.0 and RDI 15.0 . Something called MaxDen 10 was 86.2.

I am listing this to see if in any way this would point someone to recommend the type of machine I should get? Not sure if the above matters for that as I know the script for the settings is the main thing. I had apnea earlier in life but lost a great deal of weight and tested without it so stopped using the machine. I decided to get this test because I dont feel rested when i wake up. So here I am again.

I have an older respironics machine but my experience has always been that even with the humidifier i get dried from these things. Does anyone have a thought as to which machine they like best with that in mind?

Any help and info is greatly appreciated!

I am new to cpap. Haven’t even gotten my machine yet. I have been waiting over a month for DME and doctor to get paperwork in the right order for insurance. If I had it to do all over again I would buy out of pocket from cpap.com when they have a sale. I plan on getting the Resmed Airsense 10 for her (replacing faceplate with silver). :D
