Tried the Bleep finally
I lost my password to my old profile and don't have that email address anymore, so I made a new profile. I used to be sewsleepy.
When I went to add my equipment to my profile, I couldn't find the PR System One on the list, is it that outdated or did I miss it?
I tried the Bleep Dreamport last night. It was really fiddly getting those ports attached! I finally managed it, after looking up posts here and watching some videos. Unfortunately, none of the videos really zoom in on that aspect close up enough and just skip past like it's so easy. After a lot of messing with it, I finally got it, though. Then the noise it made! was a deal killer but a little searching found me the post about using a filter to dampen the air coming out of the exhalation ports. I had a larger filter I had received by mistake once and it worked perfect! Totally silent with that! Thank you PaleRider for the idea viewtopic/t174807/BleepDreamPort-nasal- ... w#p1289934
I slept soundly last night, didn't wake up at all. The cost of the ports is an issue but thank you Pugsy for posting a sale at makesleepeasy, those should last me a little while.
Thanks for all the help that's available here!
So, what is this I've been reading about an old and new version of the Bleep? Is there a newer version with a longer hose? Is it appreciably better?

Re: Tried the Bleep finally
The new version has a longer and more flexible hose AND a little system for doing the filtering, which cuts way down on the noise. Take a look on Amazon; you're looking for the picture that has what looks like a miniature black bikini bottom.
The revised hose is really useful for those of us who use a hose stand/lift to get the hose up out of the way.
From Pugsy I learned to listen for the clicks as I work to get the ports attached. Sometimes I hear just two; sometimes four. When I think it's all secured, I block the end of the short hose with my hand and see whether there's any sound of leaking.
If you're fine with the DIY filter and don't need a different style of short hose, you don't really need the new bleep. For me, though, it was a game-changer.

Re: Tried the Bleep finally
The System One machines no longer show up on the equipment profile menu because they have been discontinued and cpap.com no longer sells them All the equipment choices are tied to current inventory at cpap.com...>BUT>>> the equipment profile link is broken now anyway so no one's equipment profile is showing up.
A lot of people are just manually adding their equipment to their profile signature.
Yes...there is an upgraded version of the Bleep....the hose is a bit longer and more flexible and there is a little diffuser thingy to hold filter material over the vent holes.
https://makesleepeasy.com/products/drea ... eq=uniform
The new hose is a bit longer....measure your hose and maybe you already got it.
The new hose is around 16 inches long. The original hose is around 11 inches long.
I thought MakeSleepEasy was just selling the new hose in their kit.

Okay, this looks great. The old style worked alright for me so I'll probably stick with it for now.
How long can you use a filter to diffuse the exhalation air before you need to change it?
Thanks a lot!

You can wash that filter when it gets too yucky looking and really prolong the lifespan. I used my first one almost a year until until washing it didn't make it look less yucky enough.

Chicago Granny, it wouldn't work for me because I no longer have the email address I signed up with.
So, is anyone selling the Bleep mask with the new tubing yet? Or is the new style tubing only sold as a kit you can buy extra?

Our (small, local) DME just shipped a new mask, including the new tubing/filter/filter thong (holder) to my husband last week. It arrived Monday or Tuesday.

I should have mine this week
I am really looking forward to it. By the way I was nanwilson, but I changed my email address and could not get back in, so had to change my name and address
I also get to cpaptalk by posting to page 2 and then back to page1 to read messages. Since I have been away from the forum, it seems to have changed alot... is Pugsy not still the moderator......
Anyway

Send Carolyn a PM and explain the situation and she can fix it and assign your new email address to your old account ID.
I don't know what is going on with your having to go to page 2 first. That's a new one on me.
Equipment link to profile is broke...so no one's equipment is showing up.

Im so jealous of you guys that get to use that amazing system. I cant keep it stuck to my skin and wake up about 4AM with air blasting me in the face. This is by far my favorite mask, just my skin doesnt play well with it.

What are you using for skin cleaning and skin prep?
Have you talked to Stuart about it?
