I've just received a second dreamstation machine from a new supplier after my 4 year old machine started making intermittent
noises. I returned the 1st new machine because it was making a whirrrrring sound on inhaling and exhaling.
My old machine was so quiet and I absolutely loved it.
So, my new supplier wasn't happy about my first return. When I went in to return it I couldn't get the machine to
duplicate the problematic noise. The supply manager suggested the issue might have been related to the power cord
I was using, since I was using my original 4 year old power cord when I tested it. I took the machine home and tested it
one more time with the new power cord. The same 'whirrrring' noise was present.
When I called the next day to set up an exchange for a different machine, the manager advised he would swap it out once.
He said If I returned the second machine he would void out my insurance order, and I would have to find a different provider.
The only way I can use this second machine is if I bury it under towels to mute out the sound. I'd rather not have to do that to
get a machine that operates with satisfactory noise levels. I'm considering trying a Resmed Airsense 10 machine to see if
it does any better.
I see that there are suppliers online who rent machines. I was thinking I could rent one and see if it's an improvement, then maybe
buy one.
I'm curious to know what others might do in this situation, and if you would recommend the Airsense 10 machine. I've been comfortable
adjusting my own settings and monitoring my sleep results with my old dreamstation machine. I'm sleeping well with AHI averages under 2
down from over 30 at initial testing.
Thanks for any insights!
