Central Apneas after Turbinate Surgery

Hello to all!

I joined CpapTalk years ago when I was a newbie and received help from the kind people on this site.

I have been using a Bilevel for years and my current machine is an Aircurve 10 VAuto.

I had turbinate surgery on Jan 11th and I am breathing much better except some nights when I am congested. I never had significant central apneas before and my stats were always good, but after surgery I am getting a lot of central apneas. I hope you can offer me advice on what to try. I have installed OSCAR and ResScan and have data from both.

I used to post here long ago when the wonderful RestedGal was helping us newbies. She was wonderful and I hope she is doing well.

Rested Gal retired some years ago. Last I heard she was doing well but it's been years since she has dropped by to check in and let us know how she is doing.

How are you sleeping? Do you spend much time awake with the mask and machine on? On any meds now?

Post a typical detailed report from a night using OSCAR software please...lets see exactly when those centrals are getting flagged.

Take a screen shot of the detailed report page. Save in jpg format.

just to be clear, images can also be posted in .png format. and i THINK that's the default on windows machines when a screenshot is taken. at least, on win10.

Good to hear about RestedGal. She was a lifesaver for me back then.

I have bad insomnia from all the years of waking up for no apparent reason, I had the turbinate surgery because of breathing restrictions in my nose. I am on metoprolol and Armour thyroid and Omeprazole for Gerd. My sleep is very broken up, but I take my mask off when I am awake.
I hope this is the detailed report you are looking for. BTW, I searched the forums for "upload" and didn't find the how to post info...

I think it depends on what utility is used to take the screen shot.
I used Windows 10 snipping tool and it defaults to jpg file type.
Now I know a lot of people use the screen shot thing offered in OSCAR and it might default to png since I see a lot of png image file types.

So I think....it depends on what is taking the screen shot. I always suggest jpg because its overall file size is smaller (I think) than png files.

won't derail further except to say i use the "printscreen" on my keyboard and that saves as png.

i learn something new every day.
