OT - Why I luv my cat (blk Bombay)

Slept without mask, awoke dreaming someone came downstairs (but have none) cuz I heard loud steps, wondered re origin then cat was in my face sniffing mouth/nose. Fell asleep again, cat woke again... finally got smart and put on mask. Did he hear my loud heartbeats/footsteps, or just that I quit breathing?

He was seeing if it was time to eat you!

Just kidding of course. I have 2 cats and I know they will come investigate any change in normal. I wouldn't be at all surprised if your fur buddy was checking on you and making sure you were ok.

Cats are not thought of as being loyal, but they really are ... however they are also more independent and definitely less domesticated than dogs, which now seem to have that genetically in their makeup.

I love all animals. No dog here yet, but there will be once we have a little more room. 2 cats, 2 birds. Don't ask me to pick a favorite.

I love our cat even though she has never tried to save my life.
(If I pet her even a tiny bit too much, though, she tries to kill me.)

No, actually, he's a guy's guy... close and warm yes, but not cuddly, but wouldn't change change him for the world!

Before I started cpap (14 years ago) the cat we loved then would wake me up several times at night by scratching my mouth. Very annoying. Once I started cpap he quit doing that. I assumed he didn't like the gasping sounds I made during apneas. He did the best he could to help me.

Maybe the cat always checks out your face while you're sleeping, but with the mask on you're sleeping too soundly to notice.
