Hi. I've just changed machines from a Resmed to a Phillips Dreamstation.
I've noticed that my AHI per hour is higher than it ever was with my Resmed. I like the Philips but I'm unsure why the readings are higher. Is it just that the new machine may be more sensitive??
I've had it about a week and had my Resmed for just over 12 mths.
New CPap and higher AHI
Re: New CPap and higher AHI
Different algorithms... not a big deal, but if Oscar results are very different, let us know (in this thread).
Re: New CPap and higher AHI
Depending on what pressure mode you are using...fixed vs auto adjusting and what you are seeing in the AHI the difference could be from the fact that the criteria for earning a flag is slightly different between the brands and if using auto adjusting pressures the Respironics response is a slower response so sometimes it lets some events slip past the defenses while it is slowly increasing the pressure.
If there is a huge difference you first have to figure out which category of events seems to have increased and then based on that we figure out if a pressure adjustment is needed or not.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
Re: New CPap and higher AHI
I observed the same in the opposite direction, switch from Philips to Resmed, AHI and required pressure a bit lower.
Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.

I switched from an S9 to Dreamstation and my AHI went through the. After a couple of week switched to an A10 and they dropped back to S9 levels.
