Will there be a new RESMED cpap soon?

Post by Jason7 » Mon Nov 02, 2020 11:58 am

Hi, I haven't been on the board for a couple of years, and must just say again thanks for all the excellent help.
I'm going to be looking for a new cpap soon.
Since the Airsense 10 AutoSet has been out for many years, and is on sale now at cpap.com, does anyone know if a new Resmed model will be coming soon?
I can easily wait if a new model is due within the next 6-12 months.
Many thanks,
Jason

Only ResMed has that answer...There is no way for any of us to know that.

Unfortunately there is no way to know what ResMed's release schedule is for anything.
It's always been a very closely guarded secret.
Might be tomorrow, next week, next year or even 2 years from now.
Anyone who might know probably had to sign non disclosure agreements.

Thanks LSAT, it was worth a try to see if you folks had any idea.

And  there's no need now for anyone to ask me "why", "what could the difference be", "what are you looking for", "it can't get any better", "yes it's coming on Nov 10th at 12 noon" etc. etc.

Thanks...

I agree chunkyfrog - there will very likely be little if any difference in the efficacy of treatment.

After being away from the forum for several years, it's very comforting to know that you and Pugsy are still here, and helping everyone! :D

Thanks,
Jason

If you have to ask the thread question, why can't we ask the others?
It appears you're "covered" with backup/spare machines.
From what I've read over the last several years, the S-9s and AS-10s were virtually identical in their performance and in the ways they have provided therapy. Sometimes, the capabilities of providing therapy and the technology reach the pinnacle of the designers' capabilities, also.

The only people that know the answer to your question are under a Non Disclosure Agreement with Resmed, and can't tell anyone.

When you see a new machine announced on cpap.com, then we'll all know.

And the reason that they don't tell anybody is precisely because of people who "can easily wait if a new model is due within the next 6-12 months."

Why do people keep asking this?

The lure of the "latest and greatest" maybe. They forget that the latest might be buggier than hell or as RobySue used to say...her worst fear would there would be no SD card data at all and everything would be modem only and no way for us to monitor our own therapy beyond the pitiful LCD data or ResMed's MyAir pitiful data.

After all it is the DME and doctors who these machine manufacturers really want to please. No one really cares what we might want or need. DMEs and doctors would be more than happy to take us out of the information loop. Force us to rely on them for details and we both know the chances of getting details from a DME or doctor are slim and none. I am kinda with RobySue on this one...be careful what you wish for because what you get might not be all that it is cracked up to be.

That logic is exactly why I bought a new Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset from https://www.cpap.com/ about a month ago.

ResMed AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ CPAP Machine with HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier
Item #37207

QUANTITY: 1

$478.40 :)

I took it out of the box, ran it long enough to make sure all was well and then put it up.
I am not taking a chance on the new machines being user friendly.

Me neither.
After 5+ years (17885 run hours) on the first one,
I started using my current Airsense 10 Autoset for her on 3/30/20.
The end user's needs are second to those of the vendor, the intended "customer".
:? (I could find no symbol for the "bird")
