Periodic breathing

Does having 1% periodic breathing equal Cheney stokes?

Periodic Breathing is nothing more than a waxing and waning of the flow rate that lasts at least 2 minutes.
Cheyne Stokes Respiration is a specific kind of periodic breathing but it is NOT the only form of periodic breathing.

CSR has a very specific pattern to the breathing and usually has a bunch of central apneas flagged within it.

If you don't have a bunch of apneas flagged within the flagged PB time....probably not CSR.
Even if you did though...1 % isn't all that alarming unless you see a lot more of it and have it happen frequently and you were for sure asleep when it was flagged.

This is flagged as PB but it isn't CSR nor even remotely problematic

Now if it looks like this...a problem

Ok, thanks.

It says 1% last night and 13% for three day average but I cannot upload Oscar data to my pc because Bluetooth won’t work and bestbuy says there’s no way to connect it.

I will just call my doctor tomorrow. I have so many symptoms that match heart failure and the dream station is telling me periodic breathing.

What is your AHI?
If it is low...you aren't having a lot of any kind of events.

It’s at 21 and 17, it was 31 untreated. Just started treatment three days ago.

Is there a slot for an SD card in your machine? If yes, to upload Oscar data, you can just use an SD card and an SD card reader (if your computer doesn't have a slot). It would be very helpful to be able to see what is going on.

That said, if you have other symptoms that make you worry about heart failure, you should most definitely make an appointment to talk with your doctor.
Oscar software is available at https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/

Obviously with such a high AHI something is not working effectively for some reason or other.
Either get the data in OSCAR so it can be looked at or call your doctor first thing tomorrow morning.

Even if it isn't CSR or periodic breathing issues...the high AHI alone is an issue.

It is absolutely critical to know what kind of events are being flagged and when as well as the overall number. You can only get that by using the software.

Yeah I will.

I am just overwhelmed because of fatigue. It makes everything a challenge.
