headset affecting skull?

Post by yoflow » Thu Sep 24, 2020 8:46 am

Hi everyone,

This is a strange inquiry but I don't know whom else to ask. I am using Philips Respironics full face mask and have been since early this year. lately I have noticed an actual dent in my scull! I have osteoporosis and in order to not have leaks, the top has to be quite snug. I have no idea if this is something which should concern me. Any thoughts? Thank you!

With mask fitting, tighter is not always better.
In fact, adjusting the straps too tight can make creases in the silicone,
through which air can escape. Much air.
Adjust with the cushion inflated, and stop when the cushion is full,
but NOT wrinkled.

Thank you for the reply. I will try wide padding if I go back to this mask but will try another mask in the meantime. It does not go into the groves on my head. BTW, I found five pages of previous r replies to this issue.

Thank you for the reply. As I had said, when I loosen the strap, the mask leaks. I found five pages of previous replies to this issue. It is a real concern but many of the replies were inappropriate and silly.

Yes, we sometimes get a little off subject in some posts. Just a little information, if you inadvertently post something before finishing your chain of thought, you can click on the little pencil icon in the upper right hand corner of the entry and then edit it.
