Question about reports
Question about reports
Is there a way I can download a report from my machine for an upcoming doctor's visit with the sleep doctor? Logging into myAir gives me a brief report but it doesn't look detailed like the doctor had shown me in her report.
My sleep doctor moved and they didn't replace the doctor resulting in having to move to a new practice. The first doctor could get the report from my machine for my office visits without me having to do anything. I had gotten the machine and supplies through their practice. When I moved to the new doctor, they told me where to get supplies. That business wanted to charge $50 for sending a report from my machine to the doctor. I decided not to do business with them. I've asked the new office about getting the report and their answers never make any sense to me. I gave them my ResMed machine information, etc. It was my impression they couldn't get the information from ResMed like the former doctor could do (or were unwilling to do?).

Re: Question about reports
Simply remove the SD card from the machine and take it with you when you go to the doctor. They can get every thing they need from the card.

Re: Question about reports
It doesn’t use the SD card. The former doctor first told me to bring the card to the appointments. Then they changed it and it no longer used the card. If I put the card in now, it says something to the effect it’s not set up that way. My friend goes to a different doctor and had some kind of problem with her machine not working after an appointment. She went back and he took the SD card out and threw it in the trash to solve the problem.

Re: Question about reports
yes it does.
Not possible.
If you put what card into what, what says ...exactly what?
indirect references don't help to troubleshoot the problem.
I can't help with what misguided actions your friend did.

Re: Question about reports
They lied to you about the sd card. Just leave it in, and the machine will fix it.
Or get a new card--a cheapie from discount store will do--small as you find.
They might have damaged it.
If you do not have the clinical menu, get it--it's free.
Then you can set "essentials" to "PLUS", which should be the default, but is not.
Then all the goodies should go on the new card.
If the card still fails, they probably damaged your machine,
and should be held accountable.

Re: Question about reports
So?
That statement is true, but because it's transmitting the data to ResMed doesn't mean that your physician has access to the data.
And this doesn't have anything to do with your claim that your machine no longer support an SD Card. Your machine still does.
One thing that is obvious from your posts, is you really aren't that technically familiar with your ResMed and its technology. There's nothing wrong with that.
But, don't start arguing with people who *ARE* very familiar and have considerable experience with it.

Re: Question about reports
I’m not arguing with anyone. I’m stating my experience and asked for help from people who “are familiar” with this.
I didn’t say the machine doesn’t support an SD card. I said the SD card doesn’t work. I tried it when I changed doctors. It sounded to me like it was an either/or setup. It either uses wireless or the SD card. I assume some setting needs to be changed for it to use the card.
Thank you to those who offered suggestions.

Re: Question about reports
No....it's not "OR" ....it uses and can use both at the same time...it will transmit with or without a SD card being in the machine.
It does obviously need a SD card to be in the machine to write to the SD card.
Unless there is/was something wrong with your SD card there is absolutely zero reason for your machine to tell you that it couldn't use that card and transmit at the same time. You failed to state exactly what message you saw when you inserted your SD card.
There are zero settings involved with using the SD card...none...zip. There is nothing inside the machine to turn on or off for the machine to write to the SD card and send to the cloud at the same time.
DMEs and doctors used to use SD card and software all the time but now that ResMed has data in the internet cloud available to doctors and DMEs they no longer have to use SD card and software. Less work for the DME or doctor....ResMed did the cloud thing because the DMEs and doctors wanted it to make things easier for the doctors or DMEs.
Believe what you want...but you are being fed a load of bullcrap.
You asked for opinions from those with personal experience...and you got those opinions but they don't agree with your own personal opinion or thoughts and that's because your thoughts are incorrect and you have been fed bull crap.

Re: Question about reports
No you didn't. You said, "Then they changed it and it no longer used the card. If I put the card in now, it says something to the effect it’s not set up that way."
That specifically states your machine setup was changed so it no longer supports an SD Card. And you've presented nothing that actually suggests your SD Card doesn't work.
Your assumption is completely wrong, and it is because you've been describing things in the context of your incorrect assumptions that you're posting incorrect and unhelpful responses.I tried it when I changed doctors. It sounded to me like it was an either/or setup. It either uses wireless or the SD card. I assume some setting needs to be changed for it to use the card.
Here are the choices:
- Your caregiver gets the data that is uploaded by your machine to ResMed. A competent Doctors office knows how to do this and to navigate the bureaucracy of providing the proper credentials to access your data. Nobody here can train them to do this.
- Given, you claim they can't, your option is to use an SD Card.
Your device cannot be setup to NOT use the card. Insert an SD Card into your machine, any somewhat modern SD Card will do. If there is a foreign filesystem on it it will prepare the SD Card for use, then lay down the ResMed data files.
If the SD Card is corrupt or there actually is a problem with the SD Card drive then quote the actual error messages.
Your options are now to bring your SD Card to your caregivers office, which any competent office can then read. Or to download OSCAR, import the data into OSCAR, then print out your own reports to provide. - Change Doctors

Re: Question about reports
Thank you for explaining how it works. Maybe the card was the problem. I can certainly try a different SD card if that’s what it takes for my doctor’s office. I never understood why they couldn’t get the wireless report.
It sounds like OSCAR is the answer I was looking for. I’m not familiar with OSCAR but I can look into it.
